I was caught up on having all of my digital scrapbooking supplies {organize}d but now have today's new purchases to get {organize}d and take a closer look at what all was included in each kit. It is such fun doing that closer look and seeing what little goodies I may have missed seeing on the previews.
It sure isn't helping me get my cleaning done but it has been a lot of fun. I have managed to get a fair bit of cleaning and even better, {organize}ing done around the house this last week however. I have a new sewing table and shelving unit complete with all of my sewing supplies {organize}d and put away neatly in wicker chests/baskets. It feels so good to look at it & if I can tear myself away from scrapping awhile, I could actually get some good progress done on my sewing projects.
From {organize}ing all of my sewing supplies, I learned that I have a fairly large wicker chest stuffed full of fabric cuts awaiting being assembled into various projects and another one stuffed with notions. I have some serious sewing to do before I can justify purchasing anymore fabric.
After seeing how the wicker baskets look on the shelving unit, I decided to buy a couple more that would fit the other side of my desk which is the printer stand shelving unit. So I bought another basket and another chest last night and {organize}d all of my paper & ink & cds/dvds into them. Now the complete desk looks nice and neat. I am loving it.
Around the house, I have {organize}d both of our bookshelves in our livingroom. Instead of just finding them boxes or make shift homes, I actually went through all of the papers and sorted them and filed the important papers away, threw out the garbage and shredded the rest. Part of the paper clean up was to clean out the couple of paper baskets I have on the wall next to my desk. Boy, does it ever feel good to look at them now and not see them stuffed beyond capacity with papers.... but now, my filing cabinets are stuffed... next will be to sort through them, scan and shred the really old papers that I likely don't need to hold onto any longer or that at least, a scanned copy will suffice.
So the house isn't looking totally clean yet but it is on its way and I have cut through the clutter so that the dusting & vacuuming part will just to make things shine again.
I could have accomplished a lot more this week had I spent more time on cleaning and not scrapping but well... I have all year to accomplish my goal of {organize}ing our house so I can afford some scrapping time, right?
Here are the pages that I have done this week... so far ;)
